South Dakota will nearly triple its number of wind turbines by the end of 2020. Ten new wind projects will be adding 888 more turbines across the state. Most of the new projects will be built in the northeast corner of South Dakota, but the energy will reach across the state. Currently, the state generates just over 1,000 megawatts of electricity from wind turbines. Once the new projects are complete, that number will rise to more than 3,600 megawatts. For reference, one megawatt of electricity can power approximately 1,000 homes. For the full article, click here.
